How to Fix Doors - Part 1
18/08/2008

First and foremost you need to identify the problem. This can be harder than it sounds. The most common problems are if a door cannot open, if a door cannot close, or if a door cannot stay closed or stay opened. If your door will not open this is a fairly easy quandary to solve. It is likely that you have too many coatings of paint on your door or doorframe. You should be able to see the door or door frame looking thicker than it should or even see lumps of paint. The solution to this is fairly easy. There are three possible ways of dealing with this problem. Either you can sand down the paint with sand paper. You can also use paint thinner which will melt away the extra paint. However paint thinner emits toxic fumes and can be difficult and messy to use. The third option is to try and chip the excess paint away with a hammer and screwdriver. Head to bargaindoors.co.uk for a high quality selection of internal doors, external doors, French doors, clear pine doors and much much more.
